Our very own Ovidiu "Ovvy" Patrascu has finished second in the third FIFA 12 PS3 KickStars League Season, the Romanian suffered an unlucky loss in the final against Frenchman Spank1986. The tournament was held for the 32 best FIFA12 players.
Our Romanian FIFA12 starlet made serious amends with his opponents in the group stages of the tournament, showing his ambition through winning every fixture. In the first round of the playoffs he emerged victorious over Wolves teammate Stanislav "WickyBG" Chakarov in a close game. He then went on to face Swedish opponent IvanLapanje and eased past him with a 2-0 score to claim a spot amongst the four best players in the contest. Ovvy then overtook semi-finalist onurturkarslan after a tense matchup 2-0 to qualify for the final.
The final appeared to be a different story, having to win two out of three matches. The fight for the number one spot was a tough one as instead of three, he played a total of seven matches against Frenchman Spank1986, the latter coming out on top 1-2 after drawing four games to stay in the final.
Ovidiu “Ovvy” Patrascu gave us a statement, reflecting on his overall performance:
"I believe I was rather unlucky in the final, leading 1-0 at games and only needing one more game to win. My opponent managed to score late equalizers four times in order to stay in the final, and eventually won the last match. Overall I performed well, the first time that I participated in this league I reached the semi-finals. This time I managed to place second, so I hope I’ll win the next one!"
