Western Wolves Halo

Posted Jan 19th
Welcome to Western Wolves!

For the last few months my team and I have been representing team Infused. They were good to us and we are thankful for the time we spent with them, however, when given the opportunity to be the first Halo team representing the new Western Wolves organisation we could not turn it down.

Pistol, MVP, Baxter, BlackJack and coach Onset

For years I have watched LowLandLions' Halo teams and I have always envied the professionalism their managers show towards them and the support they get from the higher-ups. I have been a part of plenty of recognisable organisations; Fnatic, SK-Gaming, Power and Infused. And I can honestly say none of them gave me the same confidence that I felt after speaking to the Western Wolves management team. The way they handle themselves publicly has always been impressive, no one ever has a bad thing to say about them. When I speak to them directly they really make me feel like they respect me and my team mates as part of the group.

I guess I just really feel at home in Western Wolves. In the last couple of weeks I've met and spoke with the majority of the team and they really are all great people. We're really excited about being a part of such a big project and can't wait to prove our worth in a months time at our first tournament as the Western Wolves.

Roster Update

At EGL London the team consisted of myself, Baxter, Pistol, BlackJack and our coach, Onset. In the weeks following, BlackJack announced to us he was going to take some time out from competing for reasons I'm not going to disclose. As well as BlackJack leaving the team, our coach Onset made the change from coaching to competing so I wish them both well in their endeavours.

Taking their places are Adam 'Adamski' Packer and Dan 'Venn' Garcia! Adam is joining us from SK-Gaming, it didn't take any convincing on our side whatsoever to get him to sign up. Adam's best placements came in the first half of 2011 when he won 2 major tournaments with Fnatic. Dan will be taking Onset's place as our coach, he was once a good player in his own right but these days wants to take part in a different way, thankfully by coaching us.

Next Up - Amsterdam!

So for our first event as the Western Wolves, ironically, we'll be heading out to the LowLandLion's territory. ReflexGT8 is taking place in Amsterdam on the 18th of February. All of the best teams in Europe are attending, more than a couple with their eyes on the prize. On top of that, it's going to be the first Zero-Bloom-No-Sprint event, so I can promise it'll be a great event to watch online if you can't attend. My guys are super excited for it and we can't wait to get out there for the competition.

We have some great opponents in Apex, SK and Enigma so we are by no means expecting a walk over. Which ever team wins the first event of the year will have to earn it and we're practising everyday to give ourselves the best chance. If you can't make it, there will be a live stream and live text updates that I'll certainly tweet about when the links are up. I'd encourage anyone who wants to hear from us while at the event to pester the stream-boss, they regularly do live interviews and all it takes is a few people asking to see specific teams or players so get in the chat and request us!

So, we'll see you in Amsterdam in a month!

Interesting stuff, always nice to see read something a little more 'personal' from our teams!
