Same Team, Same Drivers, Same Goals, New Name!

As you may have noticed, we have gone through a name change - we are now the Western Wolves. The management stays the same, so do the drivers and our common goals we have set for the future - to always keep improving individually and as a team in a fun and motivating environment, whilst continuing to produce as much media content to the public as we can. LowLandLions is already established as one of the greatest forces in E-sport, and we feel honoured of being asked to help putting the Western Wolves on the map of E-sport too! Our iRacing squad has gone through a massive improvement during the recent seasons on the iRacing simulator. Below I will give you a short recap of the past 2 seasons and a short flash of how it looks for next season.

Season 3 2011 (Last season)

During the summer we had Jake Stergios running in the Nvidia Drivers World Championship on the roadside whilst Nolan Scott was the driver to represent us in the NASCAR Driver World Championship on the Oval side. Running simultaneously with the DWC series, we also had the Road to Pro Series, where we saw Rudy van Buren, Dave Gelink and Nolan Scott earning the Pro license, allowing them to progress one step closer to DWC with Jake. On the oval side Jake earned another Pro license by finishing in the top 12 in the NASCAR Class A series.

Season 4 2011 (Current season)

In season 4, we started out with a great addition to the roster by signing PJ Stergios (Jake's older brother) who is also a Pro license holder on Oval and Road. Jake meanwhile earned automatic DWC qualification despite not even holding a DWC license - being the first person on iRacing to accomplish this feat. With the addition of PJ, we currently have four drivers in the 12 week long Pro-Series Road, where the aim is to be in the top 25 at the end of the season to earn a DWC license and join Jake to fight for the $10,500 winners prize money.

At this point, with 3 weeks to go of the Pro Season - we find Rudy, Dave and PJ positioned in the top 25 on the Road side. On the Oval side, Jake finds himself in a good position to join Nolan for next season, whilst PJ is running 7 points behind the 25th position, but things turn so fast in Oval and PJ knows he can make the top 25 too if the luck goes his way.

During season 4 we have also managed to get 3 tournament wins in a row, with Dave winning the Petit Le Mans, Jake winning the Road Racing Tournament at Watkins Glen and Rudy making it a triple with his win in the British Road Racing tournament. Looking at the Official Series, we have Vincent Staal currently leading the iRacing Prototype & GT Challenge in his Ford GT with 350 points and looking good to win it.

Season 1 2012 (Next season)

As the Drivers World Championship starts at the beginning of 2012, the top 25 from each Pro Series gets a drive in the DWC - and if everything goes according to plan we will see 4 drivers consisting of Jake, Rudy, Dave and PJ in the Nvidia Drivers World Championship with Nolan, PJ and Jake running in the NASCAR Drivers World Championships. This also means that the Road to Pro Series gets underway, and once again we will have several drivers who will try to qualify for the Pro, this time with Simon Cattell, Robin Friskopps and Teemu Iivonen trying to emulate their team-mates success.

With our passion for racing, combined with the strength of the Western Wolves as an organisation, we are really happy and keen on showing our performance on track in the future. Our shoutouts goes out to our sponsors!
